We have been working hard to make this season the best yet. We can't do it without your help and support, though. We have a number of coaching positions we need filled as well as coordinators. Please email us if you have an interest in helping out.

About Us

The BYSA Football program offers an opportunity for local youth to learn and play the great game of football.  Players who will be entering grades 1-4 can participate in our full pad flag football program while those entering grades 5-8 can participate in our tackle football program.

BYSA football strives to teach our area youth much more than just football.  We place an emphasis on teamwork, respect, physical conditioning and leadership throughout the course of the season.

The most important thing that we focus on, however, is player safety.  BYSA football takes significant steps to teach the players proper techniques, how to be safe on and off the field as well as investing in equipment with safety in mind.  Every BYSA football coach at every level (including flag) is USA Football "Heads up" certified, and is trained to incorporate all of the latest safety measures into our program.

Our program is locally run, funded and operated.  All of our Board members and coaches are all volunteers.

Who can play BYSA Football?

The BYSA Football program offers playing opportunities to children in grades 1-8 from any local town.   ALL GENDERS WELCOME.  BYSA Football is not just for boys!

We have welcomed players from Montpelier, Berlin, Northfield, Orange, Randolph, Roxbury, South Royalton, Williamstown, Washington, Waterbury, and other towns. We work with the players and parents to arrange car-pooling for games and practices.

The BYSA Football program belongs to the Northern Vermont Youth Football League (NFYFL). The league is made up of teams of 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade students across Vermont and now even northern New Hampshire.  Not all league members have a flag team. We play against other teams within this league.

The Vermont Principals Association (VPA) jurisdictions are not relevant to our youth football program, so players do not need permission from their school to play in our program. The BYSA Football program is not affiliated with the VPA or any schools.

When is the BYSA Football Season?

Optional conditioning practices will be held the August 8th, 9th, and 10th 6:00pm - 7:30 pm.

Practices begin August 14th, with practices running M-F for the first two weeks. Practices will start promptly at 5:30 and tentatively end at 7:00PM
It is vital players are there before 5:30 in order to get ready to be on the field.
