PRACTICES
Players will be reminded of their responsibilities for the next practice or game.If a player cannot attend a practice due to illness, or other reason, the player MUST contact their Head Coach. It is essential that coaches know prior to practices/games that a player will be absent.
The Head Coach's are:
Senior Tide (7th/8th): Mike Dindo 249-1871
Junior Tide (5th/6th): Brian DeForge 272-6337
Rip Tide (Flag): Charlie Atwood 839-6070
Players must attend practice Monday through Friday for the first two weeks of practice. Following that the Rip Tide (flag) will practice Tuesday and Thursday nights. The practice schedules will be noted in the weekly newsletters.
All practices will take place at the Barre City Elementary School. We will have practice in the rain. In the event of lightning during practice, we are required to clear the field for 20 minutes. During this 20-minute period we will take shelter at the pavilion at the base of the hill. If there is thunder/lightning twice within a 20 minute period the coaches will cancel practice. The players and coaches will remain in the shelter until everyone is picked up. Please remain aware of the weather and arrive at the practice field early when situation such as this are apparent.
The BYSA Football program offers positions to children from any local towns that do NOT attend U32 (5th grade up). U32 does not offer flag football so children under 5th grade can play on our flag teams. We have had players from Berlin, Northfield, Orange, Randolph, Roxbury, South Royalton, Williamstown, Washington, Waterbury, etc. We work with the players and parents to try to set up car pooling for practices.
