HOME GAME FOOD
We
have a wonderful opportunity for a great day on Saturday at Spaulding. We will
be using the concession stand which has power! Last week we had VERY few
contributions to the concession stand from parents.
PLEASE consider bringing a
crock pot of food, a dessert or snack or some drinks to contribute to the snack
bar. All profits benefit our program and
could keep our registration fees down in the future. Everyone loves a little
variety in the concessions also.
Don’t
forget to volunteer for concessions, chain gang or score keeper! http://www.bysafootball.com/volunteer.html
GAME FILM
This
year the 5/6 and 7/8 players have the opportunity to watch the game films (with
coach’s comments) at home on their computers. The games can be copied to a DVD
from this website also.
Please
see your parent rep for more information or to see which email address your
player has chosen to use for his/your log-in.

Please
post these phone numbers on your refrigerators for any questions you may
have. However, your players should still call THEIR HEAD COACH if they will
not be able to attend a practice or game.
The coach’s phone numbers are at the bottom of every newsletter and on
the homepage of the website.
We
had a substantial issue this weekend because 9 flag players did not notify the
coach they were not coming to the game. It changed the game schedule! We had
two teams come to play and the plan was to break our kids into two teams. It is EXTREMELY important for players to call
their coaches if they will not be attending.
BIG PICTURE
This
coming Tuesday all of our players will be having practice (due to Labor Day on
Monday). Please have your player(s) where bring their game jersey so that we
can take one big picture of all of them!
APARRELL ORDERS
If you would still
like to order apparel, please contact Lisa Flinn at 371-8368. We would like to
place an order soon and we need more orders to hit the minimum!
.
INJURIES
We
have been very lucky with injuries this year, however, we have had a
substantial amount of “ankle rolls”. Please be sure players’ cleats are tied
VERY tight and if he has any ankle problems he should get higher top cleats. If
your player has an injury from a previous night please purchase an ace bandage
for him and wrap it. We have been going
through medical tape like water and it is expensive.
RAVENS FOOTBALL
Our flag football team has been invited to
participate in the half time of the next Ravens game on September 13 at
1:00.
Our flag team will separate into two teams and
scrimmage on the field during halftime for about 15 minutes. Remember… all BYSA Football players get into
the Ravens games for free if they wear their game jersey. Parents and siblings are $5.
ROAD TRIP
The
5th/6th grade team has been invited to participate in a
New England jamboree in Portland, Maine in November. If we have enough players interested in
attending we would love to try it out.
It is a two day jamboree on November 14th & 15th. It would be a fun weekend. Coach Lamb will
talk to the players more about it to see who may be interested in attending.
Please talk to your player and discuss the
possibilities. We will have a meeting
for all of the parents of players who may attend to decide on fund raising and
levels of accommodations (a bus vs cars, numbers of hotel rooms, meals,
fundraising vs. parents paying).
RAFFLE TICKETS
Remember to keep selling raffle tickets! The tickets are only $1.00 each and every
cent goes back into our BYSA program.
Each player is required to sell at least 20 to offset our expenses.
