The flag teams will be playing in Essex this week. They will be part of a “Round Robbin” that begins at 6:10pm. Below you will find the schedule:

A Team

Essex Driving Directions

· Merge onto I-89 N toward Montpelier/Burlington (28 miles)

· Take the US-2 exit, EXIT 11, toward VT-117/Richmond/Williston. (.3 miles)

· Turn Right onto W Main St/US-2/Theodore Roosevelt Hwy.

· Turn Slight Right onto River Rd/VT-117. Continue to follow VT-117. (7.2 miles)

· River Road turns into Maple Street. Park on the left, parking is on the right at Albert D. Lawton Middle School

5th to 8th Grade Games This Week

The 5/6 and 7/8 varsity teams will be playing or “rivalry” game at U32 against Central Vermont. We currently hold the trophy… let’s keep it! The 7/8 JV will play Newport at the Barre City Elementary School. Last week against Newport was a great match up! It ended in a tie.

Here are the game times:

8:00am – 5/6@U32 – arrive at 7:00am

9:30pm - 7/8varsity@U32 – arrive by 8:30am

1:00pm - 7/8jv @BCMES – arrive by noon

Next Week

Next week flag is playing in a jamboree in Essex. The varsity and JV teams will be against St. Albans at home.

Rivalry Week Spaghetti Dinner

This Friday night the 5^th thru 8^th grade teams will have a spaghetti dinner at the Faith Community Church at 6:30 (7/8 will have practice from 5:30 until 6:30) to celebrate rivalry week. The 7/8 team will watch film of the last two games.

We would appreciate parent volunteers to bring uncooked spaghetti, sauce, Gatorade powder and/or bread/butter to practice on Thursday. If you would like to volunteer to help please call Jack Davis at 595-3867 or email barrefootball@usa.com

PICTURES

The remainder of the individual pictures and the 7/8 group picture will be taken Friday night at the beginning of practice. If you need individual pictures taken Please call Mel at 479-5056.

BYSA Football Board of Directors

We will have some openings on the board for next year and we would love to mentor people so there is a smooth transition. If anyone is interested in the presidency now is the time to begin mentoring. If anyone is interested in getting onto the Board of Directors PLEASE contact Kerri Lamb at 518-250-8736. We NEED a new president next year! Kerri is stepping down.

If your child will not be attending a practice or a game they must contact their coach to let him know. This is more important in this sport than others. The coach’s phone numbers are on the website and will appear on each newsletter. Below you will find the contact numbers for the coaches.
